Redesigning BYKARB's website to reflect a shift in strategy.

BYKARB was evolving their service strategy and how they organized their areas of work, and wanted their website's architecture to reflect that shift. This was a genuinely collaborative project: their team brought strong visual direction and a clear sense of where the business was heading, and I brought UX structure, usability judgment, and an understanding of what was actually buildable.
BYKARB knew where they wanted to go. My job was making sure the site could actually get them there.
BYKARB's team gave me a set of low-fidelity wireframes reflecting their new strategy and service areas. I reviewed each one for usability, structural clarity, and whether it was actually achievable within Editor X, the platform we were building on. Since I don't code, that feasibility check mattered as much as the UX review itself, an idea that looked right on paper still had to work within what the platform could support.
I tested their ideas against those three lenses, usability, clarity, and platform feasibility, confirming what worked as-is and expanding or adjusting where it didn't. Once we'd defined the design system and page structure together, I built the site directly in Editor X, refining color contrast and accessibility along the way, and structured it to stay adaptable for updates as BYKARB's work continues to evolve.
I still maintain BYKARB's website today. They reach out from time to time for small updates, new team members, service changes, and the site still carries the same visual identity and structure we built together.
- Wireframe Review: Evaluated BYKARB's low-fidelity wireframes for usability, structural clarity, and feasibility within Editor X.
- Collaborative Structuring: Defined the design system and page architecture together, with shared ownership over the direction.
- Accessibility & Contrast: Refined color and contrast decisions to meet accessibility standards without losing BYKARB's visual identity.
- CMS Build & Ongoing Maintenance: Built the site in Editor X for scalability, and continue to maintain it today.
This project was a chance to balance strong creative input with thoughtful UX structure, working closely with a Graphic Design team that brought bold visual ideas. When some of their ideas were strong visually but hadn't fully considered the user, I gave them UX reviews and options for how to adjust it. I enjoyed playing that in-between role, translating vision into something navigable and functional. It was rewarding to see the design come together in a way that respected both aesthetic intention and usability.
